The first big tip is to take a Passe de viagem suíça.
Beba a água
Travel to many destinations often comes with the warning not to drink the water. That’s not true in Switzerland, home to some of the purest drinking water in the world. Don’t bother with expensive bottled water; drink as much as you want from the tap! It will taste great, save you money, and do you no harm whatsoever.

Remember the Altitude
The Swiss Alps are one of the most beautiful places in the world and home to Olympic-class skiing. If you’re headed there, remember that you’ll be at a high altitude and prepare accordingly. This means lots of sunscreens, as you’ll burn more easily, even on cloudy days. Have plenty of water with you and keep an eye on the weather at all times. You’ll also want to take frequent breaks to avoid altitude sickness.
Go Easy on Cash
Despite what many assume, Switzerland is not a member of the European Union; therefore, it has its currency rather than the Euro. Convert a small amount of your cash into Swiss Francs rather than all of it, so you aren't stuck with any later. Major credit cards are accepted everywhere, but make sure you're aware of any foreign transaction fees before you swipe.
Don’t Eat the Chocolate
Yep, that’s right, we said don’t eat the chocolate, but let’s explain. Switzerland is known for its world-class chocolate, but skip the touristy shops if you want some and join a chocolate workshop to get what the locals eat. You can also grab some real treats from the local grocery store. Not only are they much better quality, but they’re also half the price.
A Swiss vacation can provide memories that last a lifetime without breaking the bank. Enjoy the natural beauty, culture and of course the amazing chocolate while using our tips to save some money along the way.
