Pour nous, la communauté et la connexion avec les autres constituent une grande partie de la vie en auberge de jeunesse. C’est quelque chose qui nous tient vraiment à cœur : rassembler les gens et créer des moments dont vous vous souviendrez vraiment après votre voyage.
Au mieux, cela signifie passer du temps dehors, en montagne. En été, nous pouvons vous emmener faire une excursion en kayak, sauter des falaises ou rassembler un groupe pour une soirée baignade dans le lac avec une bière ou deux.
We want to share our love for this place and help spark new friendships. Sometimes it all starts with simple moments at the hostel, like sitting around the fire, or taking part in a trivia night.
Nous ne suivons pas d’horaire strict et les choses s’enchaînent souvent en fonction du jour, de la météo et des gens autour. Cela dit, nous organisons régulièrement des activités en haute saison.
Si vous avez envie de nous rejoindre, vous êtes toujours le bienvenu. Et sinon, c’est très bien aussi.

Sunset at Lake Thun
Let's wonder off to Lake Thun in the evening and stay for sunset. Bring a drink and your swimsuit if you feel like getting in.
Bonfire
When the weather allows, we light a fire in the backyard. Grab a guitar or a drink and sit around the fire for a while. In winter, we have a few specialities for you ;-)
Soirée de jeu
Game nights happen regularly, either indoors or in the garden. Join in if you feel like meeting some of the other guests.
Soirée cinéma
On quieter evenings during the colder months, we might put a film on in the living room. Get your comfy socks on and snuggle up.
Randonnée aux cascades de Giessbach + baignade dans le lac
We walk from Iseltwald along Lake Brienz to Giessbach Falls. It is a relatively easy route, with the option of a swim afterwards. Easy opportunity to bond with new mates.
Apportez votre propre barbecue
Bring whatever you would like to put on the grill and we will take care of the fire. It is also a good chance to meet other guests and chat with the team.
Trivia Night and Club Night
We split into teams for a round of trivia before Balmers Club opens downstairs. It has become kind of an institution at Balmers over the past few years.

Aventure en kayak
On some summer mornings, we head to Neuhaus to rent kayaks or SUPs and spend some time on the water, and possibly climbing some cliffs. No previous experience is needed.
Activities change with the season and the weather. Check the board at reception or ask the team what is happening during your stay.
