If you’re staying at Balmers, it’s an easy outing and a nice change from hiking days. The lake feels different from the valley, especially in the early morning light.

📍Harder Kulm is a viewpoint above Interlaken in Switzerland. From the top, you’ll see both Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and the surrounding Bernese Alps.
How to Get There:
👉🏻 Go to Interlaken Ost railway station. From there, walk about 5 minutes across the Aare River to the valley station of the funicular.
👉🏻Take the funicular (Harderbahn) up to the summit. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes.
👉🏻Alternatively, for the more adventurous: there’s a hiking trail from Interlaken up to Harder Kulm - takes about 2-3 hours, with a steep climb.
Ticket Prices & Discounts:
👉🏻A regular adult return ticket on the funicular is around CHF 38 (about €35) in 2025.
👉🏻 If you hold a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card, you get a 50 % discount, so around CHF 19-22.
👉🏻 Season: The funicular runs from mid-April to late November (exact dates vary), so check ahead.
👉🏻 The funicular departs every 30 minutes during operating hours.

Même si je suis allé plusieurs fois en Suisse, j’ai surtout exploré le côté germanophone. Nous avions prévu de visiter le Tessin lors de ce voyage (la région italienne !), mais la météo n'était pas au rendez-vous 😅 alors nous sommes allés plutôt aux gorges de l'Aar — et wow… La Suisse n'a vraiment pas de mauvais angles. 🏔✨
Et oui, je me suis retrouvé à nouveau à Interlaken 😅 Je ne m'attendais pas à ce que cela me devienne si familier, mais la vie vous amène vers des destinations inattendues pour de belles raisons.
La Suisse est incroyablement magnifique – des lacs aux montagnes en passant par les villages – et oui, cela peut coûter cher. Mais ce qui n’a pas de prix, ce sont les rires, les retrouvailles, les souvenirs et les amitiés qui me ramènent sans cesse. Un endroit est beau, mais ce sont les gens qui lui donnent du sens. 🫶

🌟 Magie d'automne sur le Harder Kulm 🍂
Même en novembre, cette excursion a son propre charme. L'air frais et pur des montagnes et la tranquillité de la basse saison font de cette excursion une expérience inoubliable. Une vue panoramique fantastique sur les Alpes enneigées, Interlaken et les lacs de Brienz et de Thoune vous attend au sommet. 🚞
